Course Description

This course focuses on improving your teaching and facilitation skills by understanding adult learners, the principles of course design and the techniques for effective instruction.

Course content explores characteristics of adult learners, communication strategies, participation, engagement and motivation, learning outcomes, assessment, educational technologies and online learning communities.

The goal of this course is for participants to link theory and practice through analysis of current literature, active interaction with peers and reflection on own teaching practice.

Module 1 – Adult Learning
Module 2 – Lesson Planning
Module 3 – Assessing Learning
Module 4 – Community Building and Learning
Module 5 – Effective Facilitation

Every module includes a short quiz to test knowledge acquisition, and tips to improve your teaching practice. Various discussion topics allow you to interact with your colleagues and put your skills to the test. Assignments provide opportunities to apply all course concepts to your specific learning environment.
